Detecting transients in audio files

March 26, 2008 | 11:30 pm

Elo. Does anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to create a system that detects transient peaks (kind of like recycle) in audio files displayed in a waveform display. I want to hook up a metro and some random objects which will randomly play trainsients within for example a drum loop.

Any ideas would be great!

Cheers.
Andy.

Take a look at Tristan Jehan’s [segment~]…

Good luck,

that outputs bangs when audio files go over a certain threshold. I was looking more for a way of randomly playing different transient peaks in an audio file upon recieving a bang. Cheers though.
