mysql object: package spills its contents

OK, so I'm using Bill Orcutt's MySQL object on one machine (Max/MSP
4.5.7, OS X 10.4.6) and it works fine. The external is "mysql.mxo",
complete with icon, although it appears to be something akin to a
bundle internally.

I copy it across to a second machine, and the bundling breaks: I just
see the "mysql.mxo" directory with all its contents. And Max/MSP
(Runtime on this machine) cannot load it.

As far as I know, the two machines (a TiBook and a Mac mini) are
pretty much identical system-wise and Max-installation-wise, but
downloading the MySQL object from maxobjects.com directly on the Mac
mini doesn't fix the problem. Is there some "bundle bit" manipulation
needed, or some permissions issue?

Aside: I've been thinking about a minor refactoring the loadbang.net
SQL package (http://www.loadbang.net/space/Software/net.loadbang-SQL)
so that it would support connection to external MySQL databases, as
well as the embedded HSQLDB database. This would seem to be a good
time to do that, except that (predictably) I have an installation
work going live in less than a week... But hey, what's contingency
time for?
