I’ve worked some time ago on some early attempts at writing a maxmsp external that would play QuartzComposer patches.
I could easily grab a screen handle (full-screen) and let the QuartzComposer API do its job on the OpenGL context associated with it. But it was not possible to get back to normal screen… :(
So I’ve tried to create a t_window and bind to it but I didn’t have time to go further, and I guess I won’t have time for such thing for some time.
I guess this early sketch might be of interrest to some of you so I’ve created a sourceforge project here:

I’ve chosen a BSD license so commercial and open-source options are possible.
Please let me know if you want to be added as developper to the project to be able to commit changes to the code.

this doesn’t help my project specifically, but it is always good to see how other people do things. especially the objective-c code, which i am almost completely ignorant of.
if i do anything useful with it, i will let you know.
also, if you figure out a way to combine the quartz gl context with jitter’s gl context (ie. both in the same window), please let me know.
