4 x Looper
Here is a device I'm working on. It consists of 4 loopers, it's still pretty basic for now.
Each looper has Rec (Red) Play (Green) and Stop (White) button + Individual volumes.
The first looper (on the left) sets the basic length.
Rec starts recording, Play starts playback.
For now, Stopacts as a Clear , since you can't start playback once a Looper has been stopped (this will be fixed).
The next loopers are quantized (as in Live, ie you need to press Play before the end of the cycle).
Each Looper has its own stereo output.
The device doesn't monitor the Input signal.
Next features to be added :
A/B switch for each Looper so that it becomes 4x2 Loopers
Improve the rec quantization to have lengths smaller than the basic length
Add some sort of sequencing
Im new to all of this. I can use this on Ableton Move?
I can use wav files onntje Move to loop with your app? Just hit a pad and something loops? Cannimapply crossfade to find the perfect loop point? I wamt to create a drone and I hear clicking
very cool!
One issue I'm running into is i get feedback when I'm using the built in microphone and speaker if i quickly do this sequence of events:
hit the left most red
hit the left most green
hit the left most red
Your patch made me realize that the 4 way and 8 way mixer utilities have a bug in the input naming, I've fixed those in the content repo and will share the devices soon.
one feature request. can you display the play position in the loop somehow? you could draw that to the screen, or use the step buttons at the bottom or something else? I think the screen is probably best as then you could draw all the loops at once.
Little update :
Each looper has an A/B toggle (top pad).
A is Purple (default), B is Orange.
For Looper 1, A sets the the loop length and B is quantized.
You can switch between 2 loops instantly
The step buttons show the basic loop length in beats. The default length is 4 beats, but you can choose up to 16 beats (ie 14 steps will give you 2 bars of 7/4). For now it's just a visual indicator.
Thank you for doing this. I already installed on my move and started using it. I have a question, are the other loopers beside the number 1, recording from the loop 1? Or they record from the audio input?
Not sure the steps buttons are working as expected, but really cool 👍
ooo this sounds fun, thanks for sharing! i've been cooking my own quad looper but in a bit of a different musical/functional direction. excited to try this out :)
