intel AU plugin under ARM

I was surprised to discover that it was possible to use an intel AU plugin on a Mac with ARM processor. Without running the host under Rosetta.

A process called "AUHostingCompatibilityService" seems to perform the necessary conversions.

It works with a licensed Max (Max8 or Max9), but doesn't seem to work with Max in demo mode. Is it an expected behavior?
