M4L Sidechain for Device

Blush Audio's icon

Hi everyone,

Basically, I want to be able to select a channel from the Live Set and use that as a sidechain input for something like a gate device.
So if there is a kick on channel 1 and my device is on a pad on channel 2, I'd like to be able to select the kick as an input into my device on channel 2.

I had a go with live.routing and I can get audio from other channels in, but there doesn't appear to be a way to separate it out as its own signal - it just seems to superimpose the new signal on top of the regular incoming signal at the plugin~ stage.

Has anyone been able to do this?

Cheers!

Maybe if you specify an extra pair of channels in plugin~ and route to those?

I can't remeber the full setup but here is the basics of a project I did a little while ago (I think I copied a M4L video on it or something). Anyway the [Routing] object doesn't wont to load and can't remember where it's save so I've included what is in it in the [p Routing] for reference. This also could be related to the [live.routing].

I believe you should be then be able to then steal the signal from the [plugin~ 3 4].

Hope it helps even if it doesn't work.
