Yanie Porlier, in addition to a master's degree in molecular biology from the Université de Sherbrooke, holds a degree in fine arts from the Ottawa School of Art. During her studies, she obtained several scholarships of excellence, including those from the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ) and the Fonds pour la formation de recherches et l'aide à la recherche (FCAR) in science and the Lilian Raport Memorial Scholarship, the Fritz Allgoewer Memorial Mix Media Scholarship in visual arts.
Her artistic approach intertwines sociological, media and performance art. Yanie's research topic concerns human-human and human-machine and machine-machine relations.
Artist of his time, Yanie incorporates in his creations 3.0 advanced technology making his works interactive and participative.
