Loop groove with no stutter
Ive been trying to do this for days but i cant get it right.
I have this soundscape type audio sample that really has no distinctive loop point like a drum loop would.
So far ive been using trapezoid in smallest amount like 0.001 and 0.999 but it still has this little stutter.
I was talking with ai and he keeps on recommending this method of crossfading same two grooves but god damn its hard to get it right and way too complicated.
Ultimately I want to create some long sound scape ish sound using a small amount of sample..
Need some help.
You need a crossfade using 2 players, or object that can do that within loop itself.
Anything that ducks on start - end will give you a gap.
how do I crossfade using 2 players
Before loosing time, you should think about similar approach for any sample rompler,
one uses start portion, but then loops zero cross section of the sample which loops seamlessly.
If it is not possible to find such loop portion in your sample, then you need crossfades.
There is xsample external xgroove~ that can do that within sample, or you need 2 players.
Now important thing is how your sample sounds, if it allready has fades at start - end it will not work like that.
for 2 players option you start one player and sync the other offset by time needed to perform crossfade between the 2.
but you could also prepare your sample that it can loop by editing it in max or other sample editor.
Then you need only to fade at start - end.
If you post exactly what your sample looks like or more infos, I could give you max example.
here is one example to offset 2nd player, one can then apply crossfades based on sync position
