Max 9.2 killed all my ~Gen devices
Hello,
I just want to report, that your recent update killed all of my ~Gen devices such as: Compositor Max for Live, SASER and Compositor v9 NRTOS standalone.
Once I load my device in Max 9.2 it starts to spam with numerous errors in Max window. I attach the Max window error log with this topic. It seems that messages just pass through the ~Gen object. None of my code doesn't work.
What happened?
Alright, I found the bug, it was 'phi' variable, which for some reason was reserved to systemwide constant variables in gen domain. I renamed my variable, but it was a tedious task to do. Project keeping is a hard task.
Phi (1.61803398), usually referred to as The Golden Section, is in the same category as Pi, and has been widely used for quite some time....
Thank you! This explains everything. In my case I use 'phi' for azimuthal angle and phase values.
phi is at the same time the most irrational number and the most irrational variable in max.
