Before Max 9, one could define one's own objectfiles and substitutions for custom

With the example provided in the above mentioned documentation, it's all hunky dory and everything works as expected, including the mentioned 'transform'-command from the object's dropdown-menu. None of this works anymore, whether using the deprecated (?) 

So, I am quite lost and would like to map all the helpfiles and refpages set up to their jsui/v8ui objects again. What can I do?

I have  created a quick 'TEST'-package to make sure I am not missing anything and to allow others to reproduce:

the file 'test-objectmappings.txt' contains the following line, as suggested in the documentation:

 is now considered legacy, it would make great sense to upgrade the dropfile-options for JavaScript files in Max, since 

-file onto an unlocked patcher. This obviously throws an error when js-Files have been coded for v8.

I have a M4L plugin that sends a series of midi notes to the midiout component (Like that I can send midi notes to any ableton live instrument). 

Note that M4L plugins adds some groove by delaying odd notes (in milliseconds).

I would like to record within the M4L plugin the midi sequence. 

I don't want to use an external M4L plugin to record , I would like to have it inside the original plugin.

I tried to include the "seq" component withi my orginal plugin, but I loose the groove, "seq" component seems to quantize the midi sequence. 

The only idea I have would be to catch the MIDIOUT component and re insert it into the SEQ component but I don't find any way to do so.

Do you have any hint on how to record the midiout output ?

A year ago I started working on something to get this task easier. I slept on it for about 9 months but got back to it recently, and I came up with two objects:

Currently, composing gen~ algorithms from reusable abstractions requires working at the visual patcher level. It would be very useful to be able to invoke a gen abstraction as a function call from within a GenExpr.

 (which loads a .gendsp abstraction) and 

 (which drives named parameters inside a subpatcher) are both exclusively visual objects. There is no equivalent within GenExpr codebox code. The only related construct in GenExpr is 

 (capital P), which declares an externally-drivable parameter, but requires passing params via 

This means that if you're authoring a complex algorithm inside a codebox, you cannot call out to an abstraction. You have to either inline everything, or split your design across mixed codebox/visual-patcher layers, which can get unwieldy.

Something along the lines of this would be cool, no need for complex import statements:
