Something wrong with the lookup~ help file.
There seem to be something wrong with the lookup~ help file in Max 9 version 9.0.9
When I go to the "samples" tab, the info~ object outputs only zeros on the second output. It seems to be the soundfile "vibes-a1.aif" that does not have this info. Using other sound files, this help file works fine. In Max 7 this works fine.
good find! 👍
i notice that the 'info~' helpfile states:
"If the information is not present, it will be 0."
I wonder if in Max7, this was improperly reporting info. that wasn't present(?) and now in Max9 it's probably more accurate. However, i agree that it could be useful for them to add that information into the sound file(s).
They probably did not add it yet to 'vibes-a1.aif' and also to 'cello-f2.aif' (<-i notice this 'cello' file also reports 0s), because the note-values 'a1' and 'f2' are in the file-titles, allowing people to get the information from the title... but still! it would be more helpful if Cycling74 would add this information into those files as well, so that people don't have to convert from 'a1'/'f2' to midi-note. This would make things more cohesive for all files loaded into the helpfiles that demonstrate the use of this information, as well as make it easier for users to test/play with those standard-included files' information.
I tried loading the soundfile "vibes-a1.aif" from Max 7 into Max 9, and then it works. I think some data has been lost in the soundfile that comes with Max 9.
