I'm trying to implement a device that I can map the outputs of my sensel morph in M4L and came across a problem that I'm sure has been debated here but I just cannot find it. The Sensel external works when I have the Max window open but as soon as I only run it in Ableton, it won't pick up any data.

I've been working on an installation where I would need to pan 40 mono channels of audio. A close solution is 

. It has a maximum on 32 inputs and outputs. Now, I am not the best with Max For Live programming, but I have been trying to 'copy/paste' and edit in 8 extra channels to achieve a 40 channel panning system. 

However, it seems that maybe M4L is not supplying more than 16 target track ids, which makes the current maximum 32 channels (See Figure 2)? This sounds like a wrong assumption and maybe I just have not set up the new channels correctly to receive an additional 4 target track ids?

Would anyone have an answer why copy/pasting and naming-in new channels would not work off of the bat? I have not been able to find other spatializers this large, but maybe they exist in wavefield synthesis systems?

I started learning M4L back at the beginning of the year... going through all the tutorials... but haven't really used it since.

Now I have a need... I'd like to output to a simple .txt file the position (measure number) of each clip on a track in arrangement view.... 

I stumbled across this, which made me realize such a thing should be possible.. but having trouble getting started.. would appreciate any tips while I attempt to figure this out.

The intent is to use this list of track numbers in Premiere Pro to automate the creation of keyframes.. (that part, I have already accomplished ;). ).. "just" need to get the data from Live.

I work on a couple of M4L devices with floating window and a zoom-able UI. For the zooming part I use a piece of code (js ps.window_zoom.js) I've found here

How do I get the name of a track (MIDI, instrument, or audio) in a message? So if the channel in Ableton is named "Diva 05" or whatever, and I have a M4L audio effect, how can I get that as a message in my Max patch? Seems simple but I can't find a way in the Live API. Only can find "track id"

For a long time I thought this was a hardware issue with the synths themselves. However, a few days ago I tested the exact same MIDI material in 

, and the synths stop cleanly there  no stuck notes at all.

After digging into it a bit more, I realized that

, but instead uses the newer implementation of 

It seems that some older synths don’t fully handle this behavior, which may explain the stuck notes.
