The actual pedal is a MIDI foot controller - this controls Max 7 on a personal computer. 

The pedal is two separate loop pedals - meaning two loops of different buffer lengths can be recorded.  I like to think of this as two different music boxes that play melodies that take different times to go back to the beginning – over time, the melodies start to overlap in unique ways. 

The rest of the pedal functions as a sample pad to trigger previously recorded loops that the user can assign to a button.

The pedal has the capacity to recall nearly any number of loops of virtually any length.  This is perhaps the most significant utility that differentiates it from other existing loop pedals.  The ability to access stored loops is only limited by the power of your computer.  Unlike other loop pedals that have cheap computers, this configuration does not have a delay when recalling loops – allowing the user to seamlessly move from loop to loop on que and record new ones along the way.

In this work I've tried to answer a question that I did during my master's degree studies in music and new technology in 25/02/2019 at Cherubini Music Institute : Is possible to do a Live Electronics, instead with a person, with a plant?  

So I've developed an algorithmic system with Max/MSP where I can play electric guitar and the plant manipulates, in real time, my sound and generates by self some soundscapes. All the generated sounds was then passed through to the plant leaves as sound vibrations with a speaker, to do in this way a feedback system.

Denise & Paula is a tribute to Jay Miner. He was the “father” of the Amiga computer.

Denise, Agnus & Paula were the names given to the Amiga’s chipsets managing the audio, video and data exchange.

This work is generated in real-time. Guitar is comprovised and algorithms create audiovisual content through audio analysis. It uses Max and Jitter to generate MIDI and visuals.

It is my homage to this machine which participated to democratize the digital arts and the demoscene that emerged from it.

For this work I created an hexaphonic granular synthesizer in Max. This allows me to improvise in real time with a small electronic orchestra with potentially infinite timbre variations.

The work unfolds in a succession of evocative paintings.

The video is generated in real time by PolWeiSky, a video synthesizer made using Jitter.
