The project was to produce a promotional music video that blended a variety of different arts disciplines to create an interesting and visually stimulating piece with elements of dance, videography, custom effects coding and traditional paintings to accompany the music. The piece is centred around dance choreography that was filmed and then masked to allow for alternative images and video to be layered on both the dancer forms and the backgrounds. 

3 custom MAX/MSP Jitter patches were created to provide the different aesthetics - 2 of these using OpenGL to render graphics and 1 downsampling existing footage of videos and paintings. The effects were utilised with varying settings that reacted to the music as well as time based automatic modes with the end piece using upto 4 different layers of images at a time.

inspired by Robert Henke's "Fragile Territory", I use max/msp to generate/mix audio waves for controlling the galvanometers inside the laser projectors and to generate the graphic by jitter and some simple kaleido and fractal effects.

Inspired by the oldest photographic printing process "cyanotype", laser dye is an optical dyeing method that makes digital fabric printing process possible at home, by hacking the conventional laser projector (with galvanometers), it is turned into an optical fabric printer, hence the users are able to laser print single color graphic on fabric or 3d objects in massive sizes (150*150cm at this moment). The dyeing feature looks like hybrid of digital print and hand-dyed, color can be toned after bleaching just like traditional photo processing method.

The virtual pianist in "The Conductor's Philosophy" was realized with a Max-for-Live patch called "algorythm", a specially developed instrument for algorithmic composition. 

"algorythm" analyses the played notes from the pianist in realtime, calculates and plays adequate intervals on the same piano based on an algorithmic composition. 

The concept behind algorythm is to imitated the human "idea" which isn't simply just a random value, but a lot more a present value at single point of time from a set of possible values. 

This is realized with a running sequencer containing all calculated intervals, playing a note every time when the pianist exceeds a velocity value over zero. 

This is resulting in a composition which seems to be some kind of aleatoric, but without the use of a single random operation.

"algorythm" and the hole technical setup behind "The Conductor's Philosophy" was presented at the arts track of the international conference on Tangible, Embedded and Embodied Interaction - TEI, in 2014.
