Max was used for controlling a multi-computer setup (4 computers total) of the performance, scene managing, light control and sound synthesis.

Jamoma framework made controlling such complex patch easy. We encapsulate state of graphic software inside Jamoma module to provide easy way of scripting OpenFrameworks-based software on other computers. Jamoma also provides a flexible way manage surround speaker setup and allows the performance to be “portable” and work with different speaker configurations. We typically use 12 channels of sound for surround satellites, 1 channel for central speaker placed on the scene, 1 channel for loud portal speakers (used for some sfx) and 2 channels for subwoofers to create effects based on wave interference.

FTM and supervp from IRCAM forum were used for granular synthesis and spectral processing respectively.

In this project I used Max 6 to control the random generation of sound. I made several modules with the Jamoma framework which controlled pitch, eq, tonality and reverb. In addition I used ViMiC which is a spatialization technique encapsulated with the Jamoma framework for Max. With this I could control the virtual sound source in a virtual 3D space with random operator made with Max. I used 16 speaker. I also used OpenGL and Max 6 to control realtime video effects on snippets of video which was chosen at random. All the modules I have used can be found on github. I have also used tap.tools objects in some of these modules. All sound, video and effects are done in Max 6

Max was used to map, mask and project images on naked bodies. I used the Jamoma framework for all code made with Max 6. All modules used for this project can be found at github.

All the sound and video processing are based on a patch called Holofractal Music and Image Transducer (v.1.05), developed by Eufrasio Prates on Max/MSP/Jitter (using some Jamoma objects for video/sound processing). This patch includes the FM Surfer patch, by John Bischoff, the bundled X-FM~ (from Max 5), Chris Keyes' Grain Cloud Generator and 8 channel Spatializer.
