The Modal Object Library is a collection of objects and abstractions to control and define modality in Max. Objects allow for the quick creation and implementation of diatonic scales and chords, harmonic and melodic analysis,  modal and chordal relationships, and many other tools that are useful for composition, performance, instruction, research, and theory/analysis. The Modal Object Library can be downloaded alone or bundled with the EAMIR SDK which included numerous quick-start-style patches for building instruments/interfaces to play tonal music.
