Python
Python for MaxMSP using Jython within MXJ.
I love you so much.
I would love to see a demo using python with the mxj object.
I have installed but am a total noob in java, fairly competent in python.
Am well versed in using the js object and javaScript (yes i know they are different).
do these things function similarly? the net.loadbang documentation is there, but some simpler examples would be helpful.
Thanks for posting this! I hope I can learn to use it soon.
You can also run python scripts natively using Thomas Grills py object.

I was just looking at this ---- I'm going to try it as soon as possible. However, I was also intrigued by the reference to flext as an API for writing externals. I know the goal was to support both Max and PD but I'm wondering if flext would be a good API for writing modern Max externals more easily than using the Max API directly. It's kind of odd that the PDF document refers to very old build tools for OS X.
Anybody managed to install this on max 7, I've put the txt file in the init folder on Recources, but this just doesn't work...
Really need this to work :/
Hello,

I know what you mean I also tried installing the object and it did'nt work for me either. I think I might have a solution to your problem though. It requires you to use Node for Max and then download the node-python NPM package https://www.npmjs.com/package/python
let me know if this works out for you :)
cheers

I have a guide where I connected it using node for max here https://github.com/L4COUR/MaxMSP-Interfacing/tree/master/MaxMSP%20Interfacing%20AxiDraw%20(Python)
