HoaLibrary v2.2


    The CICM is pleased to announce this new release of the HOA Library.
    The HOA library allows musicians and composers to synthesize, transform and render sound fields (in 2d and 3d) in a creative and artistic way. It aims facilitating the understanding and the appropriation of key concepts of Ambisonics. It offers original processings like diffuse sound field synthesis, perspective distortion or spatial filtering and graphical user interfaces. The library is available for Pure Data and Max.
    This new release includes some updates and new features like new binaural rendering, new tutorials, exchanger for Ambisonics data format, optimizations, etc.
    Authors : Pierre Guillot, Eliott Paris, Julien Colafrancesco.
    The HOA library is free, open-source and made available by the CICM, the centre of research on musical composition and computer science of the University Paris 8. The project has been developed as a part of the LABEX Arts H2H at the MSH Paris-Nord and the plate-forme Arts-Sciences-Technologies.
    This library is under the terms of the GNU Public License. If you want to avoid the restrictions of the GPL and use HoaLibrary for a closed-source product, please contact us.

      I've been wondering for a long time what would be the main difference between for example the SPAT toolkit and HOA except for the reverb in SPAT? I've always thought HOA looks amazing but as a SPAT user I've never taken the plunge not knowing the differences. Thank you
