Hi Dan,

can't get the drops working(both RainMachine and RainMachineUserInterface), only noise is audible. MAX/MSP/JITTER 5.1.8

Thanks, Jurgen

Hi Jurgen, Thanks for trying out my synth, just downloaded rainmachine to try on my laptop and it seems to be working fine which unfortunately means the only advice I can give may seem all too obvious. Firstly check the on/off button at the bottom right hand corner panel and then select a preset, the levels of the presets have been set quite low as the sound is meant to be background/ambient so try turning up the master lever quite high and the volume on your amp. Hope this may have helped, if you get this working this synth really only comes alive once you start to use automation on the main mixer and some of the filters. Let me know if you still can't hear the rain and I'll see what I can do, all the best - Dan

Thanks Dan, of course I checked the on/off button and tried several presets. But only raising the Noise slider I get some sound: 'p_background_noise' does work! Maybe there is some Object missing - for example: entering into Edit of some subpatch I can't get Help- or Reference for the wuter~ or N_ref~ Object. Which is the origin of the rain drops? All 3, Drips, Local and Distant do not emitt any sound. Also connecting them directly to the DAC does not produce anything. Do I need to connect some input like MIDI or so? Sorry to bother...

Hi Jurgen, I think I know what the problem is now, the wuter~ object is part of a batch of free externals called 'PeRColate' that can be downloaded from:

There's some interesting stuff there, once you've copied the objects to the relevant folders, fingers crossed, all should work fine, have fun - Dan

Hi Dan,
the original Windows download is down: http://www.akustische-kunst.org/maxmsp/download/PeRColate-v0.9b5.zip. but I found it in another place : http://theguitarzeros.com/fretbuzz/PeRColate-v0.9b5.zip.
Now it seems to work - but, strange, the sound is somehow very distortet. I recorded 'Rain 1' - you may listen here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31002263/snd.aif.
When I'll have more time I'll try some reverse engineering...
Ciao, Jurgen
