Jitter PBR Explorations

Following the release of jit.gl.pbr in Max 8.3, a group of us at Cycling '74 got together to try out different ideas and generally explore what we could do with this new Jitter feature. The resulting patches, presented in no particular order, might provide a few jumping off points for exploring how PBR fits into your own work. Copy and paste is encouraged! For best results, make sure you have the most recent version of Max 8 installed, and that the GL3 package is updated to the latest as well. No materials are included with these patches, so I encourage downloading the example PBR textures from the link in jit.gl.pbr help patch, and starting to build a little library of materials as you get started.

Note: The files referenced in these examples use files from pbr-maps Download Here

Thanks for the jit.gl.pbr object and these examples.
Just a note: avg_pbr-tmh.maxpat does not work, as it's texture based and the currently released jit.gl.pbr object does not support it yet. Here's hoping for the next release!

Pedro please update your gl3 version via the package manager to get the texture input functionality.

Hi, newbie question: In what folder should I put the pbr-maps? I can't get them to load with the patches.
Thanks :)

They can be placed anywhere in Max's search path. Easiest is your user Documents/Max 8/Library folder
