MXJ/VISTAx64 issue
Hey,
SImply, I've developed a pretty big patch on my Mac for an installation, all of which hinges on a couple mxj objects I wrote. For the event, I'm wanting to use my dell desktop (vista 64bit machine). Somehow I believe this would be a pleasant migration.
Here are some various errors I'm getting on startup:
>max msp error mxj_platform_init failed
>(something about) Java 2 Runtime Environment
>unable to create JVM
I've installed all the latest JRE/JDK packages from sun that are 64 bit compatible. The arduino IDE even opens up... which requires java.
I'm confused because no mxj object works, even the examples.
What's going on?
any help is great.
Is there anyway someone could write a small process at how to go about getting the mxj object setup on a windows machine. I feel like I've done everything I can and just can't figure it out... downloaded everything possible, messed with the max.java.config.txt file, moved java files around, unjarred stuff...
(I'm sweating right now from frustration)
Tell me, ordinarily, should someone just be able to get a windows machine, install Max 5, simply install the latest java JRE and be good to go? Is it always necessary to edit the max.java.config?
Do you have to move classes around? I don't know, just need some guidance.
...Somehow I seem to be the only person on the internet with this problem
Thanks!
