Confusion: Full Max9 Cycling74 License & LiveSuite12 Bundled Max Installation

Question;

I have a Full Max Cycling74 License installed for years..Now after installing LiveSuite12,  I notice 2 x  Max9 icons showing in the Dock (one for the cycling74 Full License Max.app, and one for the new Live Bundled Max.app). Sometimes they're active at the same time.  I dont think that is supposed to work like that ?.

Should I remove the Max-app I already had installed before I Installed Live Suite?

and just use the Suite-Bundled Max9 app. for both  Standalone-,  and M4L purposes. ?

thank You

M.

Hi,

Did you try to specify the right max.app in your Live preferences ?

Oh...

it suddenly starts to make sense now .... i totally misunderstood that setting. :)

I thought the M4L in LiveSuite was sort of 'forced hardwired' to its own in-app Max application .

But i can link it to my Max9 app that was already installed for my Cycling74 License!

pretty stupid ;)

Thanks !

So ....i got that figured out now...

But still. when I open old patches made in Standalone Max 7 or 8 by clicking on 'em , it now opens in the bundled Max.app of AbletonSuite. Not the Max9 app it used to be opened in.

So, again, i get 2 instances of Max open at the same time. When I click a on patch-file : 'Get Info'- Open With; It's impossible to force it to open with the correct Max9app. Somehow the bundled Max9.app is set to (Default), so it keeps opening.

What am i doing wrong here..
