Computer-aided composition and score generation for experimental, non-standard musical practices and research.

The dada library features a certain number of graphic user interfaces for computer-aided composition and score generation, along with a small number of non-UI modules designed to complement the operations of some of the interfaces. The dada library requires the bach library to work.

Although bach features a certain number of interactive objects, all of them essentially implement traditional representations of music. This is both a strength and a limitation: it is a strength, inasmuch as it allows bach to be a general-purpose, highly adaptable tool; it is a limitation, inasmuch as it limits the scope of bach as a toolbox for experimental, non-standard musical practices and research.

The dada library is meant to fill this gap. The philosophy behind dada is profoundly different than the one which informed bach or cage: dada is to bach what a laboratory is to a library; under the umbrella of non-standard, strictly two-dimensional GUIs, it is somehow heterogeneous by design. All of its components embrace a graphic, ludic, explorative approach to music; most of its component also refer to the worlds of plane geometry, physical modeling, game design or recreational mathematics. A portion of the library provides tools for creating, handling and visualizing SQLite databases.

Requires you have installed the packages bach v0.8.3 and cage v0.7 or higher.
