Max-for-Live devices extract note data from MIDI clips and send that data via OSC to a companion Mac app that computes and streams (also via OSC) generated note content back to the source Live tracks. Other Max-for-Live devices coordinate timing and recombination of MIDI clips on accompanying tracks.
