Making traces

Making traces is a kinetic audio-visual installation by Matteo Castiglioni that investigates the possible relationships between sign and sound, trying to bring as much as possible to the time of the composition to that of the execution, creating a score in continuous creation, execution and variation. The four large transparent panels in continuous movement represent the focus of the environment, which is the point towards which the machine is more attracted. These allow you to create bright configurations in continuous variation.

The sequence is circular and is determined by three main processes: the first is that of environmental analysis, which is performed by a camera able to map the space, for the search of the lines; the second process is in sign form and concrete answer to this analysis. The gesture corresponds to a graphic sign that is drawn by the machine, which corresponds to a sound wave which is amplified, processed and spatialized in the surrounding environment.
