MeshWarpServer – a new 3d mapping tool

MeshWarpServer is a versatile Mapping Tool to create complex Video Projection Installations. Its functionalities can be compared with VideoProjectionTool or MadMapper, but follows a different philosophy since it uses customized model files for the mapping process. It runs on Windows and Mac OSX operating systems and is OpenSource.

It has now an overhauled Userinterface and powerfull functionalities:

You create your own meshes with your favourite 3d modelling package. Since MeshWarpServer works with meshes that are stored as wavefront-obj files, you can exchange them forth and back between MeshWarpServer and any Modelling Application.

You can play now up to four quicktime movies, four syphon-streams or four capture-streams simultaniously.

There are four textures you can define, with control for brightness / saturation / contrast, mask, up to 5 softedges and cropping.

A very powerfull softedge editor allows you to have full control over the way you want to stitch multiple projectors together to one screen.

It has built-in OSC functionality for remote control or syncing of multiple instances on different machines.

It uses MaxMsp/Jitter 5 as a Framework. It is opensourced and can thus easily be implemented into you own patch (if you know how to do it :-)

Very good tool. And the tutorials are top!

Unfortunately it gives me an error if I try to use it on a Mac Pro with 2 graphic cards.

Any ideas why?

Thank you!!
