Aerial
Aerial is a generative sound sculpture which produces harmonic tones by resonating 8 tuned aluminium tubes. The way the tubes are played can be changed to suit its environment. Currently I am experimenting with data mining techniques, using data from the web to play Aerial's tubes. The data which I am currently working with is the live location of four satellites in orbit. I used MAX MSP to create all the programming associated with Aerial.
Aerial is completely modular with the option to change each tube to alter the tuning of the instrument.
