Amplitude Drawing

Amplitude Drawing makes one aspect of audio, volume, visible by drawing lines as determined by the loudness of a prerecorded track. The patch generates the lines and increasing/decreasing the gain of the left and right speakers changes the canvas range available for the pen to draw lines. Canvas range, pen size, and pen color can also be manipulated to create varied scenes.

By working with the patch, the user can create computer-generated images aided by human interaction. The user will also gain familiarity with the abstract concept of audio by working with volume in a physical and experimental manner.
