bearings_traits

bearings_traits is a generative music engine designed in Max by John Supko during the composition process of "s_traits," his new collaborative electronic album with media artist Bill Seaman. bearings_traits is able to "compose" music from an enormous database of 110 hours of audio that Seaman & Supko compiled over several years. The database includes field recordings, analog and digital noise, acoustic and electronic instruments, cassette recordings of Supko’s juvenilia, recordings of Seaman & Supko playing the piano (inside and out), and soundtracks from documentaries made in the 1960’s and 70‘s.
