Crave by Sarah Kane

These are fragments of my adaptation of the play Crave by the late British playwright Sarah Kane. The piece lasted an hour and was designed using Max/MSP/Jitter and SoftVNS. The lines of the characters were pre-recorded and triggered by a performer using movement and/or light. These actions by the performers also simultaneously created visuals in real time. Light played an essential role. Parts were used used using real light, others infra-red. In every instance light acted as a paint brush, layering the textures in a manner you could call "digital action painting". Live music was designed by Dave Seidel. The performers were myself and Dei Xhrist. Voices by myself, Dei Xhrist and Susan Pepperman.
