DIFFUSION: Particle System Granular Synthesiser (open source)
Diffusion is a particle system driven granular synthesiser.
Diffusion uses Max 8's [mc] objects together with Jitter matrices to create a synthesiser that is controlled through the movement of particles through three-dimensional space. It uses both physics simulations and gestural input devices (such as the Leap Motion or VR HMD controllers) to give the user a "controlled-chaos" type approach to granular synthesis.
While the interface can be driven with a mouse, the three-dimensional nature of the interface is best explored with either the Oculus Rift or Vive HMDs. Binaural spatialisation is also active in VR mode for greater immersion.
