DIY MIDI Laser Harp made with Hacked Toy and Max 8

Dr. Liza Seigido (electro-acoustic composer, multimedia artist and maker) hacks a $5 Air Guitar with two of her students to create a MIDI Laser Harp powered by Max 8. She is currently composing a stage-work involving dance, interactive lighting and sound for this musical instrument. The audio output from the hacked toy is used to trigger MIDI messages in Max, which can then be used to control a synthesizer and DMX lighting operator.
