e-String is an homebuilt string instrument. The instrument with electromagnetic bows (e-bow) piloted from the computer, using Max/MSP for the control. Associated with pickups and contact microphones, the strings sounds are amplified and processed (always on Max/MSP).

The computer control of electronic bows offers special playing and sound modes: rhythm, continuous sound, short impulse with/containing clear pitched or not, and also various behaviors related to computer control and transformations.

The instrument allow experiences between electronic thought and acoustic sound qualities (related to physical acoustic string vibrations).
