The International Transducer Orchestra

The International Transducer Orchestra is a project initiated By Koka Nikoladze, Bernt Isak Wærstad and Amund Ulvestad.
The word orchestra here is used to mean a lot of musical objects driven by various transducers rather then a lot of human performers. Koka, Bernt and Amund are operating/controlling/conducting the orchestra of such musical objects.
During the project they investigate different artistic expression possibilities by using various kinds of transducers. They extend common acoustic instruments, such as guitar, cello, piano, etc. and also make new musical instruments by oscillating and animating physical objects.
Max 7 is used for generating various oscillations, which resonate surfaces and/or move objects. It is controlled manually with keyboards, also with a number of sensors, such as capacitive sensors, pressure sensors, etc. The project successfully uses fzero object and sound is also used as one of the control parameter. Finally Max is used as an automation tool.
The first show is planned to be premiered in Oslo by three artists - Koka Nikoladze, Bernt Isak Wærstad and Amund Ulvestad in 2015.
