I have used Max/MSP/Jitter to map each pixel of a 4K photos to elaborate with an algorithm a generative music that responds at the proximity of people who seeing these pictures inside in a gallery art.
Jitter here is used as an analysis picture tool that feed max msp with data of rgba values scaled each one to generate an algorithm music pattern that changes and evolves continuously using some conditional rules.
Like a pareidolia, where people try to find a shape or a pattern in some abstract objects.
