Color a Sound

Color a sound is an installation that uses an overhead projector and a camera to create an inverse color organ that can be played like a player piano. Different colors can trigger tones or drums.

Hi,
I'm a 3rd year Music & Sound Technology student at Portsmouth University in England. I am looking for a project idea that is going to be built using MAX MSP. I love the look, simplicity and creative possibilities that your 'Colour a Sound' project exploit. So I'm thinking about doing something similar.

I am a classically trained musician and I do struggle with the concept of Max5 (pure date was a bitch too). Can you give me any tips, clues, suggestions or anything else that might put me on the way to accomplishing something like your project?

Any help would be appreciated.

Best wishes,
Ken Wharton-Emms
