This book is thought and designed to be an introduction to the digital synthesis through Max MSP or vice versa. At the same time that the different types of synthesis and their theoretical principles are explained, the resources offered by this digital tool are explored through a detailed explanation of practical examples. The content of this book does not pretend to have a high scientific or mathematical profile, however it does require some knowledge in digital audio and a basic management of the Max MSP environment. In any case, each of the objects used have a detailed help documentation in the program itself that could complete the explanation of the proposed examples. In this first volume the following types of digital synthesis are addressed: additive synthesis, subtractive synthesis, AM, FM, vector synthesis, wave table and FFT synthesis.
