The arch of Milan

"The arch of Milan" is a 4x4 meter network that can be played as an instrument, developed for the launch of the Adidas Deerupt sneakers. The net can be pushed and pulled by the audience, activating a dynamic instrument. When people interact, the music created by the Italian producer Charlie Charles is turned on, allowing users to play on it. The net can be played alone or in groups, creating a wide combination of sound, music and percussion. When the interaction ends, the music leaves room for a minimalist soundscape.
NOTES: The interaction system has been programmed in Max/MSP, which processes data coming from 4 sensors able to measure the force and direction exerted on the net, and then transmit them in the form of MIDI data, to Ableton Live, to control certain parameters of modulation of synthesizers and samplers.
