Volca Sample MIDIator

This simple app aims to emulate some of the features that the RetroKits RK-002 Smart MIDI cable with the Volca Sample firmware provides.

The features that this adds to the Volca Sample are:

• Velocity Sensitivity - The samples will now respond to velocity MIDI data

• 'Single' channel mode - You can now trigger samples from your keyboard on a per note basis, rather than samples being locked to 1 MIDI channel

• Chromatic mode - 2 octaves above your sample base key can be used to play your last selected sample at different pitches

• MIDI mapping - Here you can map various MIDI performance controls, as well as 2 user assignable CC's, to the Volca Sample controls

About this project:
I thought to myself, the RK-002 is essentially a MIDI interface with a microcomputer built into it, manipulating incoming MIDI data to be sent out to other devices. Well, I have a not so micro computer, and Max 8 is the perfect tool for this data manipulation, here is the result! Max patcher and OSX app in GitHub link.
