1 image, 4 TVs: quartering my jitter matrix

flim's icon

hello!

with the help of a (4 port) vga splitter I'm planning an installation with 4 televisions, each showing 1/4 of the whole picture.

the question is: how can this be achieved in max?

thankful for any hints!

cheers..

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

sorry, I didn't realize that a vga splitter merely shows the same picture on 4 different screens - and is not used for dividing one and the same picture..

so my request becomes a little more basic (: any ideas on how I can split my image into 4 pieces (max patch) and let every TV show 1/4 of that picture?

cheers..!

guess I'll have to deal with video wall controllers first. bummer. so expensive :(

I know for sure a box exists that takes one VGA in and spits four VGA's out, each with a quadrant of the input at a res of your choosing..
If only I could remember it's name....

well, there's matrox' triplehead2go:

but again, that'd only be 3 screens. :/

Is your Mac a Pro one or a handbook
If you're on Mac Pro
I would suggest that you add a graphic card with at least 2 outputs so you would have 5 outs one for the screen control and 4 for the Telly's
and the after jit scissors create a jit.gl.videoplane....

HTH,
