2 computers, one Midi interface

Hello list, I want to control 2 computers, both running the same patch (with différents contents - QT movies), with the same Midi controler. so, to be clear, I want the two patches to be simultanously triggered by the same Midi Note-On message, coming from the same Midi Controler. I know I can easily do that pluging the controler on one computer, and link the two computer with RJ 45 and make the midi message go from one to the other with udp send and receive. But with no time at all to code and test I wonder if I can plug the controler on both computer with a hub. Of course,I am afraid about electric power risk in any of the machine involved... Did anybody have allready test that ?

No it probably/definitely wont work like that . . . Try ipMIDI on PC - works on Macs too or if on Mac you can already easily set up Network MIDI via AudioMidi Setup. No need for rolling your own ... Cheers MM
