4.63 / setting text & background color for all message objects
Morning, please excuse one of my typical beginner questions:
Is there a way to set text & background color for all message objects in a patch at once and WITHOUT having to cable them especially for this purpose?
Eventually even including font and font size?
What, if i want to color comments separately?
I'm looking into [thispatcher], both at it's help as well as tutorial and reference entries, but can't quit figure out how this works.
Thank you for any hints!

look at the universal object.

alrite, did so. thank you for the suggestion.
it turns out that messages can be tweaked in a small range, but not really freely, apart from using the built-in 15 colors of 4.63. these can be changed, of course, but the whole two-step procedure is clumsy.
comments then don't respond to any of my universal attempts.
i guess i leave it like that, but just out of curiosity: is that kind of functionality much better in max 5.05?
can actually any object be targeted regarding it's appearance, an in a kind of generally similar fashion?
i'm sorry for not being able currently to even run a 5.05 demo here for technical reasons.
thank you again for any hints,

yes, as mentioned, plus there's a lot broader range of colors/alpha for every object. They all can respond to similar bgcolor/fgcolor/etc. commands in similar fashion, so this kind of runtime-tweaking is way better.
