A different take on pluggo consequences
What I'd like (and do tell me if it's already possible) is to have the existing Pluggos (which I paid for) as max patchers, so that I can look at how they work, and incorporate them into my own patches. Is that something that C74 might consider?
Why?
About the only thing I use a DAW for these days is mixing and editing. And I tend to mostly use Waves and iZotope (ie eq, compression, reverb etc). Everything else happens in max.
Where I _did use Pluggo was inside max patches. Not all the time, but it did occasionally allow me to get an effect that I perhaps wouldn't have thought of myself, or do something that I didn't have the time to figure how how to programme myself.
So if the plugs are dead and gone, would there be any harm to C74 in opening them up?

Pluggo , absolutely.
Hipno and Mode will be up to the owners of their source.

My understanding was that if the Pluggo effects were to become M4L devices that they would by definition be open source as all one would have to do is hit the edit button on a (formerly) Pluggo M4L device and copy the contents. Of course we don't know if lockable M4L devices will be supported. My guess is they will be eventually because at least developers could then sell devices to the niche market of Live users.
