Ableton Library samples not loading into M4L devices on set opening

Hi all,

I've posted this on the Ableton forum as it's probably more of a Live issue, but thought I'd seek help here, too.

Whenever I use files from the Ableton library in my Max For Live devices then save and exit the Live set, they aren't recalled when I re-open - I get a 'media files are missing' message. Files from my own sound library are recalled, however.

I think it might be that the library is 'read only' - I've managed to change individual files so that they aren't read only but whenever I apply that to folders, they revert.

Is there a way around this as it's infuriating! I've taken to making screenshots of my sets so I remember what samples to load into which M4L devices!

Cheers,

Dave

Is this problem specific to only the samples from Live's Libraries? Does the device remember the location of samples loaded from elsewhere on the computer i.e. samples not from Live's Libraries?

Yes indeed, that's exactly the problem

Try adding the Ableton library to the search paths of Max (Options>File Preferences).

Thanks for the suggestion, broc, but no luck unfortunately. Any other ideas would be gratefully received!
