Ableton Max Packages in Max MSP
Hello,
I feel like the answer to this is going to be obvious but every help file has to do with either using 3rd party m4l devices or importing them into Ableton not the other way around.
I own stand alone max 8 and Ableton suite. I would like to be able to use the packages included with Ableton suite as devices in Max ( for example CV tools )
To view those amxd's you need to show package contents in the the package. When dragging those into max I get an error or nothing. Also I can not add them to the file browser or search path.
Does anyone know how I can install the Ableton packages into Max?

I can just drag and drop the .amxd files from a Live Pack folder into Max.
Maybe you have some permission setting problems.
Also Max For Live CAN'T load AMXD inside the Max Editor (if editor opened from Live), that only works in standalone Max.
So I verified that the I had the amxd's copied into the correct max for live folder. I am able to drag in 3rd party amxd's ex. Grip and Spectrum Runner but when I try to drag in ones that were included with my Ableton live suite - cv tools - I get an "error parsing patcher file"
I am only using standalone max, but maybe what you mentioned above regarding Max for Live is the issue. Do you know if Ableton max packages are only usable within Ableton / max for live environment and not standalone?
update, it looks like if I open the device first in Ableton by dragging it to a track and selecting edit, I can then save it into my max for live folder for stand alone max and then I am able to drag it into a patch. It's weird to have to go through all those steps though.
Seems it depends on the device, CV Tools stuff shows the same errors here, but others like Granulator II, Grain Scanner and Bengal load just fine.
Hi Namakemon, thank you for verifying, it was driving me nuts as I've had weird file issues with max in the past.
