I am trying to bring data from the Mac OSX utility nettop into a Max patch. I have tried the Shell object but I'm not sue I am understanding how to use it correctly: In terminal I simply have to type "nettop" (no quotes) for the utility to start. I've tired sending shell the message: open -a nettop but that doesn't seem to work. I'm assuming that when it does work I'll see a dump of (at least some of) the data if I connect the left outlet of Shell to the right input of a message box, but so far I have nothing.
