Accessing Midi Clock in M4L

Hi

I'm trying to get the midi clock that an external sequencer from my modular is sending via Midi-Din to my audio interface. The clock is there, as I can sync Ableton to it, but I don't want to do that but rather get the clock into M4L without syncing Ableton.

I am getting the note infos of that midi channel into M4L but the clock is nowhere to be found. I've even tried sending it via a virtual midi device and so on, but I assume Ableton doesn't just pass it on to Max. Is there any way to do this?

For now I have the workaround of getting the clock in a standalone Max patch and sending it via updsend, but I'd prefer if I can do it all within M4L.

I've looked up and down the forum but couldn't find a way to do this (or for some reason it didn't work at my end). If there is a thread about this exact thing then I'd appreciate a link.
