aka.speech soundflower "echo"

I am playing around with soundflower and aka.speech to modify the system sounds before outputting them. It is working fine except for 90% of the time I am getting a slight "echo" where a sound in the final word is respoken after the word itself.

The soundflower setup:

Soundflower 2ch is set as the output in the preference pane. Soundflower is set as the source in the DSP box and the output is internal speakers. The driver is core audio built-in output.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Any ideas on how to eliminate the "echo"? does this happen on your systems?

Are u sure this is not just the normal latency of the coreaudio drivers? The sound after going through the mac's adc and the MAX objects, then back thru the DACs, well, it takes time? 'delays' the output?

It could be the normal latency, but it only seems to repeat the sound from the last word, not echo the whole thing. And all the audio is going through the same path so latency shouldn't be an issue since it would effect everything the same?
