i use an akai lpd8 and want to assign several functions to each knob, eg. that when in pad-mode it produces control messages 1-8 and when in cc-mode, control messages 9-16. pretty much the same behaviour as with the pads.

i guess i could switch the midi channel via program but i'd rather have a simpler, one-button solution for switching.
