Hi,

I am very new to Max (only started using it on Monday) and have started making a patch for my mpd32
just basic controls such as loading a sample and using the pads to trigger it (I'm hoping to start mapping some effects into it soon)

The issue I'm having is that when i press a pad it plays a sample but then plays it again on release.
I have read a few other posts about this and have tried putting a route into 127 so it only plays when 127 value is input but i cant seem to get it working.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Mate,

with out seeing your patch it sounds like what you are getting when you press a pad is a 'note-on' midi message and 'note off' midi message. giving 2 bangs that trigger your sample twice,

try the 'strip note' object to give one 'bang'

If it doesn't work, post you patch and i will have a look.

Regards,

Oli

I just tried putting 'Stripnote' in but it seemed to just stop all the audio

Ive got a feeling that you might not have connected the velocity to strip note, but let me know.
